Note: If your WMC v 8. You need to install WMC version 8. You can find it on the Green Button forum. Tried ununstall and reinstall still not working. What did you find out? I can not get it to work on a fresh install of a new build machine. Did you ever get a chance to test it out on Version ?
Did try a restart just to see if that would work but no go. Does this work with the latest Windows 10 build ?
I just tried it and after install, clicking on the icon nothing happens. Hi i installed on win 10 but I plugged the cable tv and get an error saying All tv tuners are currently in use.
To change the channel, seletc the program…. Anybody else experiencing this phenomena? Windows 10 vers. All functionality of WMC will be intact … I have tested it on Windows 10 Version and even on the latest Windows Insider build and it works absolutely fine. It runs beautifully on my install but unfortunately it crashes catastrophically when clicking the exit button after playing a recorded TV program.
Uninstalled and re-installed and the crash still occurs. It must have been some momentary interference on my antenna. Are my codecs out of wack? Hi Matt, thanks a lot for the update. Kodi is a fantastic product but none of the alternatives do the tv functionality including configuration in such an integrated way.
For Kodi you need to install a back end tv server. Media Portal is probably one of the best alternatives for tv functionality. I have recently upgraded from Win 7 to Win I downloaded and installed the WMC modification from this page. Everything looks good running the WMC, but, like some others, I cannot view any recordings or go to live tv from the guide.

In Media Library , select the type of media you want to add for example, Music , and then select Next. Select Add folders to the library , and then select Next. Select On this computer includes mapped network drives , and then select Next. Browse to the folder where your files are stored, select the check box next to the folder, and then select Next. Media Center will search the folder for digital media. It will also save your folder selections for the next time you start the program.
Media Center automatically scans selected folders for compatible media files. If you want to import files from a shared folder on another computer, the process is similar: select On another computer and Media Center will search for shared folders rather than local ones.
