This is our third night, another two to go. The guides are amazing and all the staff make you feel incredibly welcome. I have seen such a wide range of animals and birds at very close quarters and each day gets better.

The accommodation is luxurious and you will never go hungry. This place is a gem Susan Kelsall. As the name says, this is located in such a way to afford beautiful views across the bushveld to panoramic mountains. The lodge is blissfully isolated on top of a hill. Once there, you will walk to the common areas where you will find the dining area, where a decadent breakfast and lunch, as well as afternoon tea are offered every day.

So much care is taken in the selection of the ingredients that you even have a choice of several types of coffee and roasts. The common area is also where the bar is located, with a seating area directly facing the mountains, for incredible views. On the way to your room you will find the beautiful pool and the spa, perfect for a relaxing afternoon — before you drive away on one of the game drives.

Rooms are incredibly comfortable, with large beds with a pillow menu; a sitting area with a fridge and all sorts of drinks and snacks; a deck with a plunge pool — a favorite of local wildlife which is free to roam the grounds it is not uncommon to spot nyalas and at times even elephants drinking from the pool! At Phinda Mountain Lodge you will feel welcome, pampered and you will be able to fully relax while enjoying nature and the unique wildlife of this part of the country.

The lodge is located on 33, acres of exclusive concession land on the banks of the Sweni River. This meant that hippos, crocs, elephants, and other wildlife can often be spotted meandering past the lodge. Singita Sweni Lodge offers an intimate setting far away from the crowds associated with Kruger National Park. There are only seven large luxurious suites on-site and each one is designed to bring the outdoors in. They have large floor to ceiling windows, big wooden decks, and modern decor with natural elements incorporated into the design.

For us, one of the highlights of staying at Singita Sweni was their strong focus on sustainability. All meals are crafted with seasonal produce and sourced from local suppliers. Plus, Singita Sweni Lodge is involved in a number of conservation and social initiatives in the community. One such project was the creation of their solar power plant. Its implementation has meant the lodge can save close to 1, tonnes of carbon emissions a year. Of course, we also loved the morning and afternoon game drives.

We had many wonderful sightings of lions, giraffes, zebras, elephants, buffalos, hippos, waterbucks, and other antelopes. Plus we came across the most unique sighting of them all — a unique white lion, spotted only in this part of Kruger National Park! Zebra Hills is nestled in the private game reserve of Manyoni in Zululand, and is a sure shot delight for wildlife enthusiasts.

Being part of a private reserve gives the lodge owners and guides a lot of flexibility in terms of game watching and safari hours. Gauteng Game Lodges. Mpumalanga Game Lodges. Limpopo Game Lodges. The staff are so friendly and on top of everything- genuinely working to get to know us and made us feel like family. The Game Drives are beyond words- we saw all the Big 5 and had some incredible encounters with many different animals.

Our guide and tracker, Adien and Lawrence, were the very Best, very knowledgeable and worked for us to have some amazing viewings! Our room was beautiful and we are still bragging to our friends and family about the outdoor shower and personal heated plunge pool. The food was all delicious, tried some new things like ostrich and eland, and several delicious desserts. We are already planning to return for our 5 year anniversary and can't wait to get back!

From the guides to the waiting staff to the rooms to the food. We can not wait to go back. Went to several We spent 4 nights at Savanna in late August. We came primarily to see the Sabi Sands leopards and were not disappointed - 6 leopard sightings including 2 young leopard Lots of White Rhino sightings were an unexpected bonus as well as the pack of painted wild dogs. Saw virtually every animal we could think of including 2 days where we saw all of the big 5 in 1 day. We fell in love with Norman the lonely wildebeest and hope he continues to defy the odds.

From the patio of our cabin we could watch elephants, warthogs and a variety of birds in the adjacent watering hole and field. The resident bush bucks and monkeys in the compound were always entertaining. The accommodations were spacious and spotless and the plunge pool on our patio was heated so we thoroughly enjoyed our siestas between game drives.

Returning from the afternoon drives to find a hot bubble bath ready was reflective of the quality of care they put into looking after their guests. Special thanks to our guide Dan and tracker Life as well as our waiter also called Life - they and all of the staff at Savanna make it such a great place to stay. We came primarily to see the Sabi Sands leopards and were not disappointed - 6 leopard sightings including 2 young leopard cubs. Would highly recommend and easily consider returning some day - we met several repeat visitors during our stay and know why.

Our party of six was blown away by the overall experience and incredible hospitality that we enjoyed at Savanna. The staff was so friendly and approachable.
